Bimonthennial Update
Just a few days ago, perhaps as a seasonmas present to myself, I purchased "187 Ride or Die". The short and executive summary is, "Gangsta post-apoc." Disputes between gangs are evidently settled by racing, each car having one passenger who scoops up guns off the ground (?!) and can empty them at rivals.
Cars with guns is an inherently swell thing. Making it all gangsta is peculiar, since then you need police and... yeah. I can't do this justice, and I can't decide if it's supposed to be a satire of a few genres all at once, or a sincere effort. I'm amused either way. It's the best bit of cheese since the time I bought that wedge of fresh parmesan.
